Create one-of-a-kind coin purses with this simple tutorial. Printmaker Jen Hewett shows you how to create custom stamps and print fabric with geometric designs. You will then learn how to assemble the bag by sewing the curved edges, adding a lining, and finishing with a decorative zipper pull.
22” x 10” medium-weight, pre-washed linen or cotton-linen blend fabric, in a light color for printing Soft rubber stamp material (Speedball or Blick are good options) Wood blocks for adhering rubber stamps Exacto knife or box cutter Cutting mat Quilting ruler Super glue/Gorilla glue Fabric paint in two or more colors Two paint trim rollers (one for each color) Inking plate or other flat, non-porous surface Pencil Quilt batting measuring at least 22” For sewing bag: Printed fabric 22” x 10” muslin or other lightweight fabric for lining PDF pattern Pencil Ruler Rotary Cutter Coordinating thread 9” zipper Scissors Snips Sewing machine Pins Zipper foot Cutting mat Quilting ruler Iron and ironing surface 12” leather lace or thin ribbon for zipper pull (optional) Bead for zipper pull (optional)
