Leather Brindle Clutch

If you’ve never worked with leather before, this project is hand punched and stitched so you’ll learn the basics of leather working without needing a sewing machine. You can then apply what you learn to other leather accessories and bags. Elke also shows you how to modify and embellish this minimal clutch for many other styles.

  • 3-4 oz. leather (or heavier)
  • variety of leather hole punches
  • strap cutter or rotary cutter
  • strap closure
  • button studs
  • scissors
  • chalk
  • rivets and rivet setter
  • awl
  • thin polyester cording
  • leather needle
  • hammer
  • craft glue
  • cutting board for hole punching

This class is excellent. I learned new tool applications( and techniques and vocabulary relative to working with leather and/or purse making in general. I liked how she used natural borders in the design of the purse. (clapping emoji)
