DIY Felt Pennants

Add color and text to your walls with these easy-to-make felt pennant banners. Courtney teaches two ways to make vibrant pennants: by cutting out customized letters and gluing them in place, or with iron-on letters and a sewing machine. Perfect for parties and seasonal décor, these pennants can be made quickly for spontaneous celebrations.
Here’s what you’ll need:
  • 8 ½” x 11” (or larger) piece of felt per banner
  • Two ½” x 12” pieces contrasting felt for ties
  • 2” x 9” (or longer) piece of contrasting felt for border
  • Scissors
  • Chalk
  • Pressing cloth
  • Iron
  • Ironing surface
  • Additional Materials for No-Sew Pennant:
    • Large ruler
    • Freezer paper
    • Pencil
    • Tacky Glue
    Additional Materials for Sewn Pennant:
    • Iron-on embroidered letters
    • Sewing machine
    • Long ruler
