I appreciate Joy's encouragement to be loose, fast, and playful. It pushes me to go with my gut and not think too much about it. Many times there are beautiful things that happen on the paper when I just move and not make things too precious.

I have always been intimidated by watercolor. It seemed to have a "mind of its own" and did not perform in a predictable way. I always believed I must be doing something wrong. Joy's relaxed and joyful acceptance of the nature watercolor allowed me to realize that it was the medium and not necessarily the "artist." :-) It is now my medium of choice. MC
