Artist, illustrator and educator Jon Stich encourages you to see everyday objects in a new light in this daily practice class. You’ll sketch using gouache, brush pens, and graphite pencils. After establishing a familiarity with the tools, color-mixing, and finding shadows, you’ll progress to illustrating objects from your day-to-day life. Jon Stich’s technical guidance will help you to identify value and compositional elements, and by working daily you will establish a routine that is both reflective and exploratory.

Here’s what you’ll need:
- Kimberly graphite pencils in B, 2B, 4B
- Pencil sharpener
- Fine point pens such as Microns in sizes 005 and 02
- Sakura Pigma FB brush pen
- Sakura Pigma MB brush pen
- Kuretake fountain brush pen
- Kuretake no. 14 brush pen
- Holbein or Windsor & Newton gouache in Primary White, Permanent Yellow, Pure Red, Katsura Blue
- A variety of brushes; Jon uses Raphaél Kolinsky round brushes in sizes 2 and 4, a Raphaél Kolinsky SoftAqua size 18, Princeton bright brush size 8 and 6, Princeton Umbria flat brush size 8
- 9x12 Bristol Vellum paper
- Enamel tray
