I am an artist and illustrator (also known as August Wren) based in a beautiful little village outside of New York City. I'm known for my daily sketchbook and the style I've developed while creating it. I paint a 30 minute painting a day and the looseness and intuitiveness of those paintings have become my signature. They are inspired by the everyday small things I see, from a bird or a teacup to a large crowd. I mostly paint with gouache but I happily throw some acrylic, ink, and pencil into the mix. I am the author of the book Draw Every Day Draw Every Way and have illustrated several other books. I spent many years after graduating from RISD as a textile stylist designing prints for children's clothing and lingerie.
