Rag Doll Hairstyles: Short and Long

Hair is a key part of a rag doll’s personality. In this class, San Francisco doll designer Katia Ferris shows you how to create expressive hairstyles that bring your dolls to life. Building on the low ponytails she teaches in her Sew a 14-Inch Rag Doll class, Katia introduces two additional techniques that can be combined for endless variety. You’ll learn how to make a long hairstyle using three yarn wefts, as well as a short style woven on a “pin loom.” With the freedom to use almost any yarn color and weight, cutting hair to any length, and adding details like bangs, you’ll be able to create countless looks—each one giving your handmade doll its own unique character.
