Learn how to make this gloriously textured cabled hat with expert knitwear designer, Norah Gaughan. Worked in worsted weight yarn, the hat begins with a ribbed cable cast on, then flows into a repeating cable pattern that creates sinuous curves up toward the crown of the hat. Though the finished result looks rich and complex, the chart is comprised of simple stitches and easy cable crosses. You can work the hat flat and seam it up at the end (recommended for beginners), or knit in the round if you prefer to work seamless – Norah will walk you through the perks and pitfalls of both methods.

- 2 skeins of The Fibre Company Terra in Belladonna (40% baby alpaca / 40% merino wool / 20% silk; 98 yards / 50 grams)
- Size US 6 (4 mm) 16" (40 cm) circular needle
- Size US 8 (5 mm) 16" (40 cm) circular needle and set of double-pointed needles (if working in the round)
- Cable needle
- Stitch markers
- Tapestry needle
