Excellent beginner introduction to patchwork! Liza Lucy explains fabric selection, prep, cutting, and block piecing in a clear, methodical way. The chapters on chain piecing and foundation paper piecing were especially helpful for understanding how surface patterns are built up from individual fabric pieces. A great first step into quilting and surface design.

yes, it was easy to follow and detailed. The teacher was amazing and knows her stuff. Ready for the next steps in my quilting lessons.

The wording and tone of "ethnic fabric" -- especially when referenced as being made in "primitive conditions" -- really comes off very poorly. Someone should probably address this.
