Great stuff! I would have liked to see some finished artwork in which mark making has been incorporated.

Flora makes a really great right in the beginning when she describes cardstock and esp. typing paper as "un-precious". The is esp. true compared to a ready-to-use canvas or other painting substrate. I've seen stamping with a cut potato shape and a celery end before. I think the celery does need to be somewhat more open. I have to say, I love that the "failed experiment" with the twig was kept in this final edit of the demo. No doubt some things I try mark making with won't all make something interesting. I would have liked to see what she does with the pine needle cluster, because I have a couple different pine trees in my yard. (Or did I happen to look away when she tried it?) Really like the corn cob marks and the center portion of the Portobello mushroom (not the stem). Although, I don't think I could stand using such fresh food as both of her mushrooms for painting and over ripened mushrooms might be kind of gross to paint with. This class definitely has me thinking more "outside the box" about what might make interesting patterns. I'm looking forward to trying water coloring once the snowy weather returns to where I live, and using such unique instruments as shown in this video I think will be fun to combine with water coloring.

I love Bowley's teaching style I especially loved her other class on here. I highly recommend! As an experienced art teacher, I still learned so much from her and I really appreciated how she shows her ritual to bring a since of spirituality/ meditation to her art practice. Now I want to create an alter in my studio. I defintely feel most spiritual when creating.Using the warm and cool colors separately is something I often use with my elementary students, but want to start using that in my own art. She kept her colors so vibrant. She makes art approachable for both an inexperienced and more experienced artists alike. I just stocked up on foam brushes bc she made a foam brush look like a magic wand! I also love how she gathers her inspo together and simplifies it into drawings hanging right there ready to apply to an intuitive idea. She taught me that intuitive doesn't mean just paint whatever, I mean it can but her focus on gathering inspiration to use intuitively is the key for me. I think this way of paintiing intuitively is really going to help me in my art making. I stuggle to stay focused, and my mind is everywhere and this way of painting works with me vs against me. I have overcomplicated my art and I still have this idea in my head that the amt of time i spend = the quality of the art. This class helped me move away from that bc I am the overworking queen! I I have so many books many that are hers actually but when my hands are covered in paint, the last thing I want to do is search through my books for ideas. Now I take photros of everything in books print them all out and then simplify and hang everything up on my walls for intuitive painting.. I've watched about 15 creative bug classes and so far this one is by far my favorite.t I can't wait to utilize this CBug resource of so many great classes in my art class next year. I still enjoyed this class but her other one goes into so much more as it's also much longer. I prob need to post this there. Thanks Flora!
