The process is fascinating to watch! I loved how the pigments on the paper reacted with the alkaline solution. Question: Could the plant pigments in general be on the acidic side and therefore react more with a basic solution and less with an acidic one? (just a bit of a science question)

Tried Flower Pounding and really enjoyed it! Some of my most successful flowers included Pansies, of course, and Sparkling Amethyst, Primroses, buttercups, bits of Alliums, and Smokebush. Foliage that I found reasonably successful included Love in a Mist, ferns, new growth from evergreen trees, and Smokebush. Orange California poppies had a lovely color transfer but needed a flatter hammerhead than I have. Very fun!

Très jolie initiation à une technique simple mais surprenante.

I did this with my 7 year old son and we LOVED it! The play with the baking soda and water was addictive! I can't wait to do this again.

Very pleasing results that seem attainable even for beginners. Good teaching approach, encouraging experimentation and openness to discovery. I like the process-oriented, trial and error style that allows the learner to play with the techniques and figure out what works for them individually.
