As a librarian, I love how much you love libraries! I fully believe in what some of us call "Serendipity of the Shelf" meaning, "I'm not sure what I'm looking for but I'll know it when I see it."
I was also just diagnosed at the age of 44 with ADHD and I have found that "body doubling" helps me work when I'm not feeling it. I listened to the whole class while weaving a project and it helps to have someone talking while I work to help me stay focused.
There are so many times in a creative practice when our mood is so poor and energy so low that we go blank in front of our walls and drawers of supplies. These simple "feed your empty creative well" exercises are reminders that even the smallest mouvement clears the stasis, creates openings in the dam and releases the imaginative waters we all crave.
