I'm 80 years old and learned to sew in 4-H in 6th grade. As a young working wife and mother (age 20), I needed to make my dresses for work so took a tailoring class; bought a Brothers Sewing Machine with my tax return money and started making my dresses. Later, when I had a daughter, I made her dresses too. I also learned to crochet from my sister and have made a few afghans; took a knitting class but still consider myself a beginner; was an oil painting artist and painted portraits of my 3 oldest grandchildren but didn't keep it up so would have to start over; I am now into quilting and love it!
