This adorable handbag is the ultimate personalized accessory. Printmaker and surface designer, Jen Hewett, shows you how to create simple stamps and print custom fabric. Here’s what you’ll need:
For fabric stamping:
- 2 pieces prewashed medium-weight fabric cut to 13” x 19” (Jen uses linen or linen-cotton blend)
- Fabric paint in 2 colors
- Super Glue
- 2 small paint rollers
- Inking plate or other non-porous surface
- 2 pieces 4” x 6” soft rubber stamp material, for carving
- 4 wood blocks, approximately 2 ½” x 2 ½”
- Utility blade
- Cutting mat
- Quilt batting at least 13” x 19”, for a cushioned printing surface
- Quilting ruler
- Pencil

For sewing: - 2 leather straps, each 25” x ½” (or sized to your preference)
- 8 rivets with caps (9mm or 10mm)
- Hammer
- Leather hole punch
- Sewing machine
- Iron
- Ironing surface
- Thread
- Snips
- Pins
- Rotary cutter or scissors
